Foundations of Teaching + Education Partnerships

Earn Your Full Teaching License While at 91涩漫!
 
91涩漫 has partnered up with Valley City State University and Minot State University for students! Students can complete TWO degrees simultaneously while staying “home” at BSC. This collaborative program allows students to benefit from both BSC and VCSU or MiSU's strengths and resources while completing coursework that will lead to teacher licensure in North Dakota.

 


 

Program Highlights

  • Practicums every semester – immediately apply classroom learning to real experience in the schools!
  • Title I Paraprofessional training embedded in teacher preparation!
    • Students can be employed throughout their program
  • Two degrees in four* years
*depends on number of credits taken each semester, chosen pace, chosen licensing program

Valley City State Programs:
  • Elementary Ed
  • Math Ed (secondary)
  • English Ed (secondary)
  • Business Ed (secondary)
  • History Ed (secondary)
  • Physical Ed (K-12)
  • Additional Endorsements:
    • Special Ed (K-12; adds one additional semester)
    • English Learners (K-12; adds one additional semester)
    • Kindergarten (preschool-Kindergarten; adds one additional semester)
Minot State University Programs:
  • Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 3)
  • Special Education Strategist (K-12)

What This Means for Students

  • Earn TWO degrees in four* years!
    • *Some licensing programs require an additional semester or summer courses
  • STAY at BSC the entire four years!
    • Take courses at BSC and VCSU or MiSU every semester
  • Less expensive than four years at a university!
    • Financial Aid through BSC
  • Benefit from BSC and VCSU or MiSU combined resources for support (i.e., tutoring, career counseling, testing services, accessibility services, athletics, more!)

How to Get Started:

#1. Meet with Admissions 701-224-5400 / 1-800-445-5073  /  BSC.Admissions@bismarckstate.edu
 
#2. Meet with your Advisor in the Mystic Advising and Counseling Center (MACC). Together, you will:
  • Apply for BSC’s Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) + Apply to VCSU’s Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed) OR MiSU'S Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.)
  • Write out your plan of study, including course selection, program milestones, and the collaborative enrollment process with VCSU 
  • Connect with your VCSU Advisor
  • Declare Foundations of Teaching (BAS) as major at BSC
  • Declare a specific B.S.Ed licensing major at VCSU or MiSU
  • ENROLL in BSC and VCSU or MiSU courses right away!
